First visit to my Great Uncle's grave

August 1984 was the begining of 'Great War Portraits'. My first visit to my Great Uncle's grave in Y Farm Military Cemetery, Bois-Grenier. S-6593 Private Alexander Edward Manly (correct spelling) 2nd Battalion Middlesex Regt. 19 years old, Killed in Action 31st October 1915 by a sniper. One year to the day that my grandfather, Alex's uncle James Edward Collman 1st Bn. South Wales Borderers was wounded and taken prisoner at Gheluvelt, near Ypres. My nan Frances Elizabeth Collman, was Alex's sister, my visit was for her.
